Little Brampton Flagpole Clare Valley Riesling 2016
94 Point James Halliday
This Riesling is made from hand-picked fruit, whisked to the winery and crushed immediately to maximise fruit flavours. This Riesling shows beautiful, crisp fruit lift on the nose. Powerful zesty citrus and lime flavours explode on the palate and carry through to a refreshing finish. An approachable style, this Riesling is drinking beautifully now. Cellaring for up to 10 years will see the wine develop with mature Riesling flavours.
Rileys of Eden Valley Riesling 2016
Gold Medal Winner
The wine exhibits the usual Eden Valley characteristics of citrus blossom, passion fruit and other tropical fruits. The palate has lemon zest, lime notes and even some granny smith apple crispness. The steely acid provides backbone, length and a crisp finish to this beautifully balanced wine. The wine has a sugar to acid ratio near 1 and a pH of 2.8 allowing it to exhibit its very fruity character while remaining a dry wine. The wine is ideal with Asian dishes and sea foods.
