Fox Creek Vermentino 2019
APPEARANCE:
Pale straw with a hint of orange hue.
BOUQUET
Citrus dominates the nose with lemon, lime, orange blossom and lemon rind together with tropical notes of pineapple and nectarine and peach.
PALATE
Grapefruit, lemon, lime, pineapple and white peach. The textural palate give this wine great interest and will be a great accompaniment for many lighter dishes.
WINEMAKING
2019 had a relatively moderate start to the ripening period followed by several days of extreme heat. Although the Vermentino was out on the vine through much of the heat it maintained great acid and fruit flavour as we have come to expect from this variety. The fruit was harvested on the 28th of February, crushed pressed and fermented with a small portion fermented on skins. The resulting parcels of wine were then blended to ensure the final product had finesse and texture combined with lifted aromatics, freshness and crisp acid. This wine matches beautifully with food.
