Penny's Hill 'The Handshake ' Pinot Grigio 2021
VARIETALS: Pinot Gris - 100%
REGION: Kuitpo, Adelaide Hills
VINEYARD: This single vineyard fruit parcel is from Pinot Gris plantings in the Battunga Vineyard, located in Kuitpo in the Adelaide Hills.
Once the ideal flavours were identified in the berries, fruit was picked in the cool of the night on the 26th of February at 11.4 Baume.
WINEMAKING: Grapes were destemmed and crushed immediately at the winery, to minimise any colour pick up from the pink skins of the Pinot Gris grape.
Fermentation was in stainless steel tanks using light solids to encourage texture and mouthfeel.
Post fermentation, the wine was lees stirred until maximum flavour and complexity was achieved.
The wine was lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling.
THE WINE: Lifted floral notes with fresh nashi pear, red apple and subtle spice, this wine has texture, flavour and freshness with a crisp acid finish.
CELLARING: Ready to drink now.
