Samuel's Gorge Grenache 2019

Samuel's Gorge Grenache 2019

A large portion of the 2019 Grenache comes from gnarly, old bush vines, grown in austere conditions on sandy Blewitt Springs slopes.
These vineyards are the reason for the concentrated aromatics of this wine.
Akin to the past vintage, this year’s Grenache has a similar lifted, lightly spiced and red fruited nose.
It is however, slightly fuller and more intense than its forebearer.

A vaguely Campari-like amaro spice range captivates and intrigues you straightaway.
Fresh strawberry, raspberry and blood orange round out the nose, with the sweet citrus carrying through onto the palate.

This is layered with lashings of vibrant red cherry, spicy cola and lifted florals.
This elegant and balanced wine has a lingering finish and fine, soft tannins.
Think dangerously easy drinking, but with a serious side.

Enjoy this lightly chilled, on a hot summer’s afternoon, preferably with the ocean lapping at your toes.
Alternatively, pair it with a simple and refreshing ceviche – heirloom tomatoes, white peach, fresh basil and King George Whiting.
