Chalk Hill Clarendon Syrah 2015
Wine Companion Tasting Notes:
A new edition to the Chalk Hill stable with the back label giving credit to winemaker Renae Hirsch and the vineyard, Hickinbotham Block 126, fruit off rows 8 to 16, 275 dozen made. This is classy stuff. The dark fruit is succulent, there's the right amount of spice and flavour. It's savoury, full-bodied with velvety tannins. The wine spends 15 months in French oak puncheons, superbly integrated and adds another layer to this already complex, compelling wine.
