Georges Exile Clare Valley Shiraz 2014

Georges Exile Clare Valley Shiraz 2014

Clare Valley- Single Vineyard- Dry Grown Shiraz

Georges Wines was born in 2003 with the acquisition of the “Springwood” vineyard located in the renowned Armagh Valley situated in the Clare Valley wine region. The production from the vineyard was originally contracted to Leasingham Wines.

As rich and concentrated as the bouquet promises, the full flavoured palate is an exercise in controlled generosity with a velvety, intense array of  black fruits, chocolate and spice beautifully interwoven with vanillin flavours from the use of high quality French oak. Immaculately balanced, it finishes fine and long with ripe, soft tannins and fresh acidity. A classic Clare Valley Shiraz from a great vintage.

Vineyard Location: Armagh, Clare Valley, South Australia

Armagh is a small historic village in the western Clare Valley, about 137 km north of Adelaide, South Australia. All of the Shiraz fruit from this vineyard, goes into making Georges Exile.

The vineyards are managed to be low yielding, fruit is “Dry Grown”, intensity of fruit flavours are maintained by low cropping levels at 2 -2 1/2 tonnes per acre.

Planting commenced in 1996 with Shiraz ‘1654’ clones situated on heavy loam soils over limestone rock.
