Possingham & Summers McLaren Vale Malbec 2016
Deep colour; the complex bouquet is full of perfumed spices, even violets, the full-bodied palate living up to the promise of the bouquet and belies the overall misperception of the inability to make malbec as a straight varietal rather than part of a multi-varietal blend. It is redolent of saturated plum fruits, dark chocolate and dark cherry, the tannins fine but persistent. An absolute steal at the price.
