The Georgia McLaren Vale Shiraz 2017
A terrific example of the modern styles of Shiraz coming out of the Vale. The Oak is restrained playing only a supporting role to the voracious fruit flavours. There is a bouquet of fermentation characters when first opened, typical of the style. But let it sit in the glass for a minute and you are rewarded with a symphony of dark fruits and a walk through a wet rain forest. Coming off old vines at the Blewitt Springs end of the Vale, it is an elegant wine that commands your interest. With minimal Winemaking intervention, and only 6 months on oak, this wine is lively fresh and full of intrigue.
